The BJP may have been on the defensive during the debate on WikiLeaks

The BJP may have been on the defensive during the debate on WikiLeaks and cash-for-vote scam in the Parliament, but that has not prevented the party from continuing to take pot shots at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Referring to Manmohan Singh's remark Advani thinks being prime minister is his birth right and he will have to wait for three and a half years for it, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said that the PM's remarks were addressed to Advanai but meant for some one else.

Making an indirect though obvious reference to the Gandhi family, Jaitley said that the Prime Minister was trying to convey this message to the Gandhi family which had a tradition of dynastic rule.

Senior BJP leaders  Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley addressed a press meet and said that budget session Parliament was successful.

Stating that budget session of Parliament was a success, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said that BJP made sure that even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was held accountable. "We made sure that government was held accountable," said Jaitley.

Quoting the CVC issue, Swaraj said that it came to its logical end. Adding further to this Jaitley said, "Government could not answer questions satisfactorily on the CVC issue."

After creating immense pressure and emerging victorious with the demand of JPC for the 2G spectrum scam being met, Jaitley said that the government defelected questions on 2G spectrum scam. "JPC should probe the core concerns of the scam."
